Privacy is always an issue when surfing the web, but there are many tools out there which can prevent them. A good example is Avira Scout, a Chromium-based web browser. It looks and feels just like Google Chrome, but it brings its own features to the table as well. The software is aimed at making your browsing experience more secure. It is capable of blocking ad trackers, it can secure your Wi-Fi connection and much more. You can visit your favorite websites and services and even make online transactions, without worrying that your habits are being logged by ads and other elements.

The browser is offered completely free of charge and it works on all modern Windows platforms. It comes in a small package and it can be installed quickly, without any effort. Apart from a working Internet connection, there are no special requirements you have to meet and you don't have to sacrifice too much disk space or RAM.

As previously mentioned, Avira Scout is similar to Google Chrome, at least in terms of appearance. It presents a quick dial when you run it and when you open a new tab, but you can change that behavior in the general settings menu. Other configurations can be made as well and you can also set up mouse gestures, log into a Google account and more.

Besides the many familiar features, you can also find a series of built-in extensions. They have controls next to the address bar, just like any other extensions. While active, these extensions will block all trackers, secure your Wi-Fi connection, allow you to shop safely and much more. Of course, you can tweak them, if you want a better balance between privacy and comfort.

The Internet can be a safer and more convenient place when using Avira Scout.

Pros

The browser comes with built-in tools, which block trackers, protect your connection and more. It has a familiar appearance and functionality, so you don't need any time to adjust.

Cons

The browser may feel a bit slow at times.
